Tejas Art Club Meeting
May 2006
(Revised Minutes May 18th Meeting)
For those of you who were unable to attend our meeting on May 18th, here is a brief summery of the meeting.
The meeting opened with introductions and short bios from the members.
PatGriggs was introduced as the secretary of Tejas Art Club. Pat had been unable to attend our first meeting in March.
Treasurer Stacy Kamas read her report on our finances. She will be opening
an account now at the bank because we now have an EIN. Her report was
approved.
New ideas and projects were discussed and new members were welcomed. An
Art show in the fall will be a project. Linda Howard, Jane Lightfoot,
Vaudie Burton and Olga Ibarra are the committee to investigate our options
for this event.
Local community agencies are co-operating to provide exposure for the
member's art works. Our web page is becoming a reality through these
efforts. Our domain name is Tejas Art Club.com.
To make the club official, an election was held to keep the present
officers of the club.
President - Linda Howard
Vice President - Olga Ibarra
Secretary - Pat Griggs
Treasurer - Stacy Kamas
Yearly elections will beheld for officers.
One of Olga's paintings was raffled off and the winner was Tony Arredondo.
Tony was present to receive the prize.
The motion was made and seconded to hold all the club meetings at the
Blanco Library, as it seems to be the most central location.
A mission statement is being developed and will be approved by the
membership at the next meeting.
Pete Garcia, our guest artist gave a brief demonstration of a pencil sketch.
The meeting was adjourned and refreshments were served.
