Tejas Art Club MeetingMarch 2006
(Inaugural Gathering)
For those of you unable to attend our March 30th meeting here is a brief account of what you missed:
We started with an explanation of Quick draw, Quick Art then selected 3 volunteers for a 20 minute drawing session. Prizes were given for first, second and third place at the end of the meeting.
Olga Ibarra gave us a demonstration of the use of gesso to make a canvas out of old cotton material and an inexpensive frame. This is a great alternative to canvas and a great gift idea.
Stacy told us about her business, which is weaving earrings out of sewing thread. She then showed us her product. Extremely beautiful…Ask her to show you. Very talented.
Olga donated one of her paintings to our Art Club for a raffle. It is of lovely white roses on a green background. The painting can be seen at the Blanco Library. We are selling raffle tickets for one dollar each. We will draw at our May 18th meeting at the Library.
Meeting closes and refreshments were served while everyone looked at each others paintings.
