The Mermaid's Cove is definitely a peaceful get-away.

There's a relaxed, laid-back quality in the air; it reminds me a little of camp when I was growing up, but without all the tightly scheduled activities!

With a dozen simple cabins, RV parking, and tent camping, this family-friendly vacation spot also has an extended-family-sized lodge for family reunions and other get-togethers.

There is "toobing" up river, and canoes available right in the Mermaid's Cove. Or bring your own kayak or boat: there is also a boat ramp for your convenience.

There are two official playgrounds for the kids, but with 14 acres of natural habitat to wander, don't be surprised to find the swings empty.

Your dog is welcome, too, as long as it's the friendly sort.

Rebecca Creek Golf Course is nearby, but you may just want to hang out here, instead. Fishin's good, they say. And there is nothing like a long walk along the river at sunset to calm your frayed nerves.
