Let's Make Blanco Beautiful!

In 1999, when Keep Blanco Beautiful was formed, many citizens would say, "You have to make Blanco beautiful before you can keep it beautiful."

This was very true then and it is still true today. Many of the same city and state environmental violations are still there.

Keep Blanco Beautiful, Inc. (KBB) concentrates its efforts on public education of environmental and solid waste issues, litter prevention, graffiti abatement, beautification of the City and public service activities.

Our mission: "TO EMPOWER BLANCO CITIZENS, THROUGH EDUCATION, TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ENHANCING OUR COMMUNITY ENVIRONMENT".

Our vision: TO BENEFIT OUR COMMUNITY BY COMPLETION OF THE FOLLOWING INITIATIVES...

Yearly–The Great American Clean-up (March 1 - May 31)

Yearly–Don't Mess With Texas Trash Off Days (1st Saturday in April)

Weekly–Historical Downtown Beautification

Ongoing–Education Programs in the Public Schools

Ongoing–Participation with the City of Blanco in the Bindseil Park Landscaping

Ongoing–Promote Recycling Activities in the City, County and Schools

Ongoing–Promote Youth Involvement through Schools & Churches

Yearly–Arbor Day & Earth Day Activities

It will take the enforcement of our state and city environmental laws and codes by our mayor and city council to "MAKE BLANCO BEAUTIFUL".

Remember it is the responsibility of the citizens to enhance our community environment by requiring that this is done by our city officials.

When you see violations of the Junk Car Ordinance #231 or the Nuisance Ordinance #332 call the city hall at 833-4525 to report them (If you need a junk car removed you can contact the city hall or Rebecca Howerton at 833-4950 for information).
