The Great American Clean Up started on March 1, 2008 and will go to May 31, 2008. The National Sponsors this year are Troy Bilt, WM-Waste Management, Honda, Firestone, Sprint, Sams, Wrigley, Scotts Miracle Grow, Force Flex, Glad, Dow and Pepsi.Thanks to Sherri Stockman at Real Foods we now have a new sponsor for the 2nd annual Great Blanco River Clean Up. Sherri told her sales representative for Toms of Maine (the toothpaste people) about our event.
Their company works with waterway cleanups and he asked if they could become a sponsor and said they would like to come and help. Look for free samples of Toms Toothpaste at the river cleanup sign in table on the April 5 and be sure to shop for your family supply at Real Foods on the square.

Every year many volunteers come together for the Keep Blanco Beautiful Citywide Trash Off and River Cleanup. Last year SEVERAL TONS of trash and recyclable metal, plastic, glass, and household items were removed
in just 3 hours!
